Join us for an engaging and insightful overview from award-winning author Joann Lublin's work highlighting over fifty trailblazing executive women who broke the corporate glass ceiling. Joann S. Lublin is a Pulitzer-prize winning journalists and management news editor for the Wall Street Journal.

Joann S. Lublin writes the Your Executive Career column for the Wall Street Journal. 

     She long served as the Journal’s management news editor, working with reporters to conceptualize and organize coverage of management and workplace issues.  She covered corporate governance, executive pay, management recruiting and succession.  Her stories on these topics mainly appeared on the front page and Business & Tech section.

Ms. Lublin also is the author of “Earning It: Hard-Won Lessons from Trailblazing Women at the Top of the Business World.’’  The book, published in late 2016, reflects interviews with 52 high-level executives. Most are experienced public company CEOs.

In July 1971, Ms. Lublin joined the Journal as a reporter in San Francisco and transferred to Chicago in 1973.  In 1979, she moved to Washington. Her beats included labor issues and housing and urban affairs.  Named news editor of the Journal's London bureau in 1987, she became its deputy bureau chief in 1988. 

She transferred to New York in August 1990 as a senior special writer covering management.  In August 1992, she became deputy management editor.  In July 1993, she created the Journal’s “Managing Your Career” column. 

In September 1998, Ms. Lublin helped initiate the Journal's Your Career Matters page.   Her “Your Executive Career” advices column, launched in August 2010, appears regularly.

In 2018, she won the Lifetime Achievement Award given annually by the Gerald Loeb Awards, the highest honor in business journalism. She was a Loeb finalist in 2007.  In 2003, she was a member of a Journal team given the Pulitzer Prize for stories exposing corporate scandals.   

Ms. Lublin earned a bachelor's degree in journalism with honors, from Northwestern University.  She received a master's degree in communications from Stanford University.
