Nicholas Garbis

Nicholas joined One Model in January of 2020, as the Vice President for People Analytics Strategy. In this role, Nicholas brings his 15+ years of experience in people analytics & workforce planning to help teams establish their analytics and planning strategies. He also leads various product innovations to meet the current and emerging needs of these teams.

Nicholas’ career began in the Actuarial Science profession followed by roles as a high school math teacher, then roles in finance & retail operations, business intelligence, and HR technology – eventually leading to an extended career in roles dedicated to people analytics and strategic workforce planning at large, global enterprises.

She is an accomplished sales and new business development professional with 15 years of high impact results spanning oil and gas, advertising, nutritional/wellness, pharmaceutical and performance improvement industries.

“Put the Client First” is Heather’s mindset going into every client engagement as she helps clients to drive collective, sustained behavior change and execution of strategic initiatives, at scale.

Prior to FranklinCovey, Heather served as an executive coach and mentor to senior leaders across various industries both domestically and internationally, and lead sales, training, mentoring, and marketing with a Fortune 500 healthcare corporation. Just before joining FranklinCovey, she built a strong direct sales and wellness coaching business with an elite nutritional company.

Laird partners with organizations to catalyze positive change through his expertise in organization development, process improvement, and learning.Laird’s ability to listen intently, develop trust quickly, and distill complex information down to a few key challenges makes him a valuable long-term partner to his clients, which include Thomson Reuters, Target, Medtronic, Toro, General Mills, and Tapestry (Coach/Kate Spade/Stuart Weitzman), among others.

Before becoming a partner, Laird was Director of Global Learning and Development at Boston Scientific, where he supported the Chief Technical and Chief Medical Officers by establishing a consistent approach to learning and professional development for employees all over the world. Laird also served as a change management consultant at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) where he helped clients plan for and address the human side of PeopleSoft implementations. Laird has traveled to more than 30 countries. He has lived, worked, and studied in the USA, Canada, Japan, and Belgium and speaks some French and Japanese. He earned an Honors BA in business from Western University in London, Ontario, and an MEd and PhD in human resource development from the University of Minnesota.


Sue Newton
Business Development Director
Salo, LLC

Sue joined Salo in 2011 as a senior business development director.  She is responsible for developing relationships with client partners and consultants and providing solutions to clients for interim projects.  Prior to joining Salo, Sue worked as an employee benefits broker as well as a former women’s collegiate basketball coach.  Sue holds a degree in Exercise Science from the University of Minnesota Duluth.  She volunteers for the Pinky Swear Foundation and serves as an advisory board member for the non-profit Her Next Play.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that sometimes you are not able to attend an event that you have paid for. All attendees are factored into our venue/food/beverage costs and therefore, we are not able to offer refunds, but would be happy to move your registration to the next event for you.
