In this program you will hear from two seasoned human resources leaders, Tonya Hampton and Philomena Morrissey, who have successful careers leading organization diversity and inclusion efforts, and creating partnerships which result in action. As a HR leader, you will hear best practices and practical actions you can leverage to ensure your organizations’ s talent strategies are competitive.

Tonya Jackman Hampton, EdD, MBA

Tonya Hampton is Senior Vice President and Chief People and Culture Officer for Hennepin Healthcare. She is responsible for the organization’s people and culture (human resources) function. Key areas she oversees include Strategic Operations; Organizational Development; Employee and Labor Relations; Total Rewards; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Talent Acquisition; Employee Engagement; Learning and Development.

Tonya’s leadership journey includes past positions at Cook Ross, Planned Parenthood, HealthPartners, Medtronic, Ecolab, Accenture, Best Buy, Honeywell, Dorsey and Whitney and Piper Jaffray. Tonya has broad experience in strategy development, organization and leadership development, change management, employee engagement, learning development, talent acquisition, performance management, total rewards and recognition, employee relations, project management, strategic planning, process redesign and implementation, HR outsourcing, business acquisitions, and reorganizations. She served as founder or director for her own consulting business and separately at Sequel Consulting Group, LLC

Colleagues say Tonya is strategic, transformative, authentic, and disciplined. Tonya is an inclusive leader whose employees call her action-oriented and a change leader. Committed to the community, she serves on The Minneapolis Foundation Board as trustee and co-chairs the Twin Cities Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Roundtable.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Pre-Law from Clark Atlanta University, a Masters in Business Administration and concentration in Human Resource Management, and a Doctorate of Education in Organization Development from the University of St. Thomas. She holds several certifications that bolster her ability to coach executives, develop teams, transform organizations, build inclusive workplace cultures, which is her calling.

Philomena is a dynamic and passionate Diversity and Inclusion Executive with expertise leading high performing teams in human resources, diversity and inclusion, community relations, work life and wellness. Prior to Land O’Lakes, Philomena held several leadership positions in DE&I, and OD at Wells Fargo, and is currently an adjunct professor at St. Catherine’s. Philomena is also an executive co-chair at TCDEIR.
